Hello all you sea sirens! And possibly some fish reading this too.
Today I have some mermaid nail art for you with Shimmer Polish Jasmine - an abslolute stunner.
Jasmine is described as an "aquamarine mix", and she sure is! It's a gorgeous polish: she has a clear base and is packed with turquoise/aqua glitters, but also has red, orange, goldish bronze, bright blue and green glitters thrown in there. At first glance you only notice the aqua coloured ones and the red glitter, but when you look closely you can spot all the others too - it's a total glitterfest!
Jasmine is beautifully composited. I don't think I've gushed enough about how great of a job Cindy does with these polishes: not only is the formula amazing and are these Shimmers super easy to work with, but the different colours of the glitters are spot on. The secondary colours are subtle but they make the polishes look amazingly interesting - as is the case with Jasmine. Can you tell yet that I loved this polish? :p
Close-up bottle shot here to prove the amazingness!
Jum. Just totally jum! I actually hadn't even noticed the green glitter on my nails and only saw those after I looked at this picture on my computer! To me, that proves what a perfect colour mix this is: no colour stands out too much from the rest but everything blends together and makes for an interesting combination.
When I saw Jasmine, she immediately was one of my favourites from all the Shimmers I received - together with Kim. I thought she'd be great for some mermaid nail art, together with my new ILNP Rehab (which will get its own blog post at a later time).
I did 3 easy, semi-thick coats of Jasmine on my index finger and pinky, and used one coat of my Gel Like Top Coat from Only You to finish if off. I had no trouble with Jasmine - the glitters spread nicely. I got a lot of compliments on these nails - everyone loved Jasmine! I also did 2 coats of Rehab on my thumb, middle finger and ring finger, and then I sponged on some Jasmine on the tip of my ring finger.
I created the mermaid scales with white acrylic paint, and used several studs and rhinestones to get the mermaid-y look. The sea shells are from Born Pretty Store - in case you're interested, you can read my earlier review of them here and see them here on the BPS website, and you can use my coupon code XDX31 to get 10% off on your orders from BPS. I finished everything off with some top coat.
I think Jasmine fits great for mermaid nail art, but she can easily be worn on her own as her colour palette is so interesting!
I have a close-up shot for you too, but it's not as in focus as I would have liked unfortunately! You can imagine the gorgeousness though, and it really shows all the different colours of glitter on my nail too.
What do you think of Jasmine? You can purchase her and the other Shimmer Polishes on the Shimmer website here or from her Etsy shop here. Polishes cost $12 and come in a 0.5 Fl. Oz. bottle, which is approximately 14.8 ml.
If you want to see more pictures of Jasmine, you can go look here on the Shimmer website. You can also go follow Shimmer Polish on Facebook - Cindy posts a ton of pictures daily from all her polishes, so you get to discover some beauties every day and see awesome polish combinations too :)
