Goodmorning! Or goodnight, depending on your time zone.
Today I have another gorgeous Shimmer Polish to show you. I recently bought Pool Party from Ciaté, which is a vibrant (almost neon) blue. I thought it would pair great with Shimmer Polish Alice, which has holographical silver hexagons and circle glitters of various sizes in a clear base. There are also silver stars in this polish, but I did not get one out - which is pretty normal, as I didn't put the polish upside down beforehand and I only ever used the top layer of polish to put on my sponge. Next time I'm using this polish, I'll definitely be on the lookout for some stars! :)
Alice is really pretty, and because she consists of only silver glitter she can be combined with pretty much any polish colour. She can look soft and elegant, but at the same time she can be really eye catching, depending on how you combine her.
With a sponge, I dabbed on Alice as many times as needed to cover up the blue completely (around 4 dabbing coats to cover up allllll the blue). I then finished it with my Fast Drying Top Coat from Only You.
Because I dabbed on Alice with a sponge, I can't give you any details on how well she'd cover my nails on her own, but I'm pretty sure she'd do great in two coats because my other Shimmer Polishes covered amazingly well too.
Sadly, there was no sun AT ALL when I wore Alice so I couldn't take pictures in the sun with her. But in the picture below you get a good look at all the holographical goodness in the bottle. Rainbow sparkle! PLUS: I think I spot a STAR! Right above the "b" in my watermark :)
Finally, a word about my Ciaté polish: this is my first one, and although the colour is absolutely gorgeous (and it did not stain my nails!), the polish isn't so great unfortunately. I needed three coats for full coverage (in the pictures you can still see some VNL but totally not in real life). The polish was a bit oily when I first used it, quite odd. I got better after I gave it a good shake. It looks like it had been sitting on the shelf in the store for quite some time, the poor thing!
I also bumped into something with my hand, and on 4 of my nails the polish had cracked. Plus it chipped pretty badly on the first day of wearing it. I'm not sure if I just got a wonky bottle though - do you own any Ciaté polishes and what do you think of them?
So, that concludes out lovely Alice! You can see more pictures of her here on the Shimmer Polish website and see how other people combined her. I love how she looks paired with this vibrant blue, but the combinations with Alice are limitless I think.
If you want to go get some Shimmer Polishes of your own, you can visit her Etsy shop here! Shimmer Polishes cost $12.
Thanks for reading! :)
These are really pretty, Alice looks like she'd be gorgeous on her own and even better paired with Pool Party! I've never tried Ciate but I've heard some people have problems with the formula.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy! Alice is just amazing, she'd make any manicure sparkle ten times more! Oh I'm glad you say that about Ciaté, I hadn't heard much about this brand except that Adele apparently wears it lol.
DeleteDat is pas wat je noemt blauw :-) Mooi zeg, mooie combi ook!
ReplyDeleteEcht hè! Ik vind het een super mooie kleur, zo lekker fel! :)
DeleteGorgeous manicure, I love how you have paired this stunning blue with the glitter. It looks so classy and elegant! :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Ithfifi! I love this combination a lot as well! :)

ReplyDeleteHaha thank you Andrea, I'm glad you like my sexy nails! ;)
DeleteThis looks so pretty. I really like the look of that Ciate - what a gorgeous blue :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ananka, it's s super gorgeous colour indeed! :)
DeleteAlice looks gorgeous and the Ciate too, shame about the quality. I have a few Ciates and the ones I have tried so far have been good :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Ave! I'll have to give Ciaté another try if you haven't had any trouble with it - if I spot another pretty colour I'll pick it up and see what it says :)
DeletePity that Ciate chipped quick because the color is just amazing! ^_^ Love it with glitter also! <3
ReplyDeleteIndeed pity! I loved the colour so much so it was dissapointing the next day to see all the chipping :/ Thanks!
DeleteI like this combo a lot. Silver glitter and the blue is great. Sorry about the quality.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! Yeah I'll have to find another great blue like the Ciaté one that doesn't chip so fast!
Deletewow this manicure is (again) so creative!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could create something like this, your nails look beautiful ;)
xx julia <3
Ohh thanks a lot Julia! You're so sweet :)
DeleteOoh this combination is so pretty! Alice is the perfect glitter and Pool Party is such a nice bright blue - I might just have to pick it up! I recently just got my first ciate polish too (Ferris Wheel - a gorgeous light blue!) and it took 3 coats too but I just put it down to it being a light colour. You seem to db having the same problem as me so maybe it's the formula of ciate polishes? I do love the brushes though! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayna! Alice is indeed prrrrretty! Ooh I loved how your Ferris Wheel looked! I'm going to give Ciaté another chance when I see a pretty colour in the shop, because a lot of people don't have any trouble with the formula or with chipping so maybe we both had bad luck with our bottle? :)
Deleteamazing manicure ! love this ocean deep blue and the way you put a shimmer !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
