Let's Celebrate Nailpolis!

Hiya!

Today's design is my entry for the Nailpolis 1.000.000 Facebook fans contest! If you haven't heard of Nailpolis by now, it's an online "museum for nail art" where nail artists upload their work, can "like" other people's designs (kind of like on Tumblr) and get featured. You can also earn badges when you've done certain designs - I have a Watermelon Lover badge and a Space Explorer badge for example :) I love the badge idea!

For this contest, you had to make a festive design. Every entrant gets a limited edition badge and a gift certificate of $5 to spend in Live Love Polish, a new online polish store. I decided to take the "festive" theme literal, and painted some wrapped gifts and balloons with acrylic paint :)

I used Essie's Urban Jungle - and I just keep falling in love harder and harder with this polish. Formula wise it has the best formula of all my Essie's and man oh man that colour is just amazing. I also used Essence Circus Confetti and Catrice Two Million Dollar Baby and picked some glitter out of the bottles to hand place them around my design.

I never really liked Circus Confetti - it has a clear base with glitters in a multitude of colours, very circus-like and I just never knew how to pair so many colours. But jeez, I adored the combination of this polish with Urban Jungle.

And on my thumb I made an OPI polish bottle!

This was a quick design, and I have no real ambition of winning (although it would be nice of course!), but since every participant gets something I feel like a winner already :D There's still a week left to enter, if you're feeling like celebrating!

Thanks for reading!
