Born Pretty Store Review: Colourful Studs Variety

*Disclaimer: this item was received for review. All opinions expressed are my own and are not influenced by anyone or anything.

Hello everyone!

I have a Born Pretty Store review for you today. I'm reviewing these colourful studs.

I decided to approach my reviews more systematically AND give you all the info at the start of my blog post instead of at the end. So here goes!

  • What?: About 300 studs in 12 different colours (some pastel and some bright) and 3 different shapes from Born Pretty Store. They are all approximately 2mm in size and come together in a little plastic jar. (see picture below)
  • Price?: These studs costs $2.29. To me, this is a really decent price for the amount of studs you get. EDIT: I just spotted that these are in promotion right now for only $0.99!
  • Where can you get it?: You can find these studs here on Born Pretty Store.
  • What do I think?: I liked these! So read on to find out more ;)

As I mentioned, these studs come together in one little plastic jar - if you want to sort them, you need to do it yourself. I started doing that but got bored after 30 minutes haha.

They have a good size and fit great on my nails. They stayed on well too, with the exception of the orange oval stud on my index finger. When I placed it horizontally like that on my nail, it stuck out a bit and my hair got caught in it a lot so it fell off after a day.

I also like that these have a variety of colours and shapes, and that some are pastel and others bright.

I decided to do a rainbow gradient design with these studs, since they were so colourful and I wanted to use a whole bunch of them.

I used the following polishes: Maybelline Tropink, Essie Roarrrrange, Claire's Beach, Essie Naughty Nautical, Essie Lapiz of Luxury, and Claire's Fairy Wings. Vertical gradients are harder than I thought though! I really need to practice some more.

I placed the studs that matched the colours of the gradient on one side of my nails when my top coat was still wet. After that, I sealed them in with another layer of top coat.

Some studs have really bright colours but they don't show well on camera. Booh. For example, the square that looks pinkish/purple is actually bright flashy pink in real life. And the orange oval shape is also way brighter! The rest looks about the way they look in real life.

So, that's it! To finish this review, I have a discount code for you! You can use the code XDX31 to get 10% discount on all your orders from Born Prety Store!

What do you think of these? I think they're especially cute for Spring! My friend Ithi reviewed these studs as well on her blog - you can check out how she used them here!

Thanks for reading!

  5. Super cute gradient! And those studs are great, even if the colours don't show up on your photo's. I agree with you that it's nice that some are bright and others more soft coloured!

    1. Thanks Eva!! I wasn't 100% happy with the gradient, it was harder than I thought to do it vertically! I'm glad you like it though, I guess I'm too hard on myself! ;)

  6. Super cute design Robin! I love it. It looks so frech and happy to me. How do you like the claire's polishes? I thought about buying the same two you posted here last week but I couldn't decide if I should take them or not so I put it back (I'm an idiot it know :P )

    1. Thanks Sabrina! I like the Claire's polishes a lot!! I don't own many but I really like the ones I have. Haha, so funny that you had these in your hands last week! I like both of them, they apply well and I don't have any issues.

I don't know how long they stay on without chipping because I change polish too often :p No you're not an idiot, I do that a lot too! When I'm not sure of a polish I write down the name and go home to google some swatches and reviews :)

  8. These are cute. I like the variety. And they give you a lot too. I've gotten studs before (in a wheel) and I'm like okay......they only gave me like ten of each kind?

    1. Uhu, I've had that too, it bothers me when you only get a few studs or rhinestones from each variety! So I really love how much I got with these :D
