Hi!
You already saw a Born Pretty Store stamping plate review a few posts ago, and now I have the second stamping plate to show you! This time, it's plate BP-54 and you can see it here on the BPS website.
This plate has 8 images, and like the other one, it comes with a blue protective film so it is protected against scratches during its shipment. It also has a very pretty sleeve to put it in, as you can see in the pictures below.
There are 4 images with owls, and 4 with leaves or flowers. I think all of these images look pretty cool, and I especially love all the owl ones and the leave pattern which I used for this design.
But like, seriously, HOWWW CUTE is that owl pattern!?!
For this design I decided to use the two images on the plate which can cover your entire nail - the owl one and the leaves one.
This is still only about my fifth time stamping, so it's not perfect. I think that's more to do with my limited stamping skills than with the plate though, as my stamper picked up everything just fine but I didn't roll my stamper over my nails entirely.
So, because I used a wrong spolish for stamping, I did another design with the plate!! This time, I stamped with my trusty Maybelline Blackout polish.
I did a quick gradient on two nails with some new polishes: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and OPI Don't Bossa Nova Me Around.
On my middle finger, I did three thin coats of MBSW and stamped a feather image from the plate I showed you last time - and it came out SO good!! I love the detail in this image a lot.
On my ring finger, I did three thin coats of DBNMA and stamped an owl from this plate BP-54. The owl was supposed to go in the middle of my nail but I totally failed. After trying it two times I decided it wasn't gonna happen right now, so I stamped some extra bits of owl here and there to make it look like that was the whole idea of this design lol. The top owl came out a bit bodyless and it looks like there's only some legs floating there. Let's say it adds a comical effect ;)
My final thoughts on stamping plate BP-54:
What do you think of these owl and plant images? Are you an owl fan like me? :)
Thanks for reading!

I did a watercolour background because I thought it would fit the cute owls. I started with one coat of Snow Me White by Sinful Colors, then I used Claire's Beach, Maybelline Tropink, Claire's Fairy Wings and OPI My Vampire Is Buff for the watercolour.
I stamped with a new black polish, Only You Black Passion. I picked it up because other polishes from the brand stamp pretty well, but this black polish was a let-down. As you can see, it isn't very good for stamping. Normally I use Maybelline Blackout for stamping and I guess I will have to stick with that one!
Now, what did I think of the stamping plate itself? I actually really love this plate. It's so full of super cute owl images, and I definitely see myself using this one A LOT. I also love that it has both a few "loose" images that don't cover your entire nail, and also patterns to stamp over your entire nail.
I found this plate was easy to use and I didn't have any issues with it. The images picked up well, I just should have used a different black polish to stamp with, but that is obviously not the plate's fault.

I love how that cutie owl is popping up in the right bottom corner lol! |
My final thoughts on stamping plate BP-54:
Price?: This stamping plate is currently on sale and costs $2.54 instead of $2.99. You get one stamping plate with eight images on it. The plate has a thin, blue protective film on top of it so it is protected against scratches during shipping to you. You don't get a scraper or a stamper with it, but you can find many stampers on Born Pretty Store - I bought this one from there and I'm very happy with it - I also used it for the stamping in this post.
Where can you get it?: You can find this stamping plate here on Born Pretty Store. They have a lot of stamping plates on there, so you can browse around here as well to check out some others - I have one of those to show you next time ;)
The final verdict: YES! CUTE! Did you see those owls!! Okay, I might be biased because I love everything with an owl on it, but I think these are pretty hard to not find cute :) The plate stamped really well too and I didn't have any trouble with it, so I love it!
Discount? Yeah! You can use the code XDX31 to get 10% discount on all your orders from Born Prety Store!

ReplyDeleteThey are SO cute!! :D
DeleteOMG, so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very pretty on both the designs. And don't worry, I've been stamping for about half a year and things I'm not satisfied with still happen to me. You stamp very well :)
ReplyDeleteOh but I always love how your stamping turns out! Maybe we are both too hard on ourselves ;)
DeleteFor the fifth time stamping, both manicures came out amazing. I love the cute owls and the other patterns! I always struggle to make a proper coverage because I have very curved nails, but I never managed to stamp my nails so neat and beautifully like you did!
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrea! That's super nice of you to say, but I think you're being too hard on your own stamping abilities, you stamp great!! :)
DeletePretty plate, those owls are amazing :-D
ReplyDeleteYEAH THEY ARE :D
DeleteWhat a fun plate! I think your stamping looks just fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen!! I suppose I just see all the tiny mistakes because I lived with this design for 3 days and stared at it a lot lol. I guess I should be less critical of myself! ;)
DeleteWow robin this is a coincidence but I have same exact stamping plate to review to :D I know how cute this owls are :D I can surely use some inspiration from your nailart for my next review. you did fantsatic job. I love the background :D
ReplyDeleteHaha that is indeed a coincidence!! That's awesome though because the plate is really cute so I'm glad you can test it out too! :D Thanks!
DeleteHappy belated birthday, sorry I didn't get to say it sooner :( I love both these manicures, your stamping looks fantastic and the owls are just too adorable! I also love the really cute base colours you used, it looks beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, thank you Ithi!! Yeah I really liked the bright coloured background for the first design :)
DeleteWhat a lovely mani and these owls are so cute!!! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne!! Yeah they are :D
DeleteSuper cute! I have to confess, I like the first design a bit more, because I love this "used" or vintage look of it, it looks like an old or worn photography. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I see, you used MBSW... ;) How do you like it?
Thank you!! Yes, MBSW - it's so good!! I really like it, it's a very nice off white - I'm so glad I found it through your blog, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise! I'm going to sit down and reply to your email now btw! ;)
Deleteyou are welcome! 😘
Deletedo this, I will sit down and do something inspired by your blue magic nails! 😉
Haha Blogger can't handle those special signs you're using! How awesome, I'd love to see those nails soon! :D
DeleteThese are so cute, I love the watercolor-y base! The stamping plate packaging is beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Yes that package is so cute! :)
DeleteSuper cute design Robin! I'm still in love with the sleeve ahahaha I got my stamping plate today but without a sleeve :(
ReplyDeleteThank you!! And oh noooo! :( Even though pretty sleeves aren't really the most important thing about stamping plates it still is a really nice extra, so that's too bad!
DeleteHahaha yes I know it doesn't matter at all actually hahaha but I like yours really really much
