July's Polish Haul!

Hello!

Today I'm showing you my polish haul from this month. I've ordered a bunch of polishes online and they have all arrived now! Quicker than I expected, I thought I'd have to wait for them until the end of August but it only took them about two weeks to get from America to me :D

First up are my polishes from Pretty & Polished. I ordered Popples and Tomboyish. Popples is a white crelly with pink, neon green and blue matte glitters in it in varying sizes. I've already swatched this polish and I'll be posting those swatches soon :)

Tomboyish is a thermal polish - I haven't tried it out yet but I'm curious!

Next: my order from ILNP! They arrived in a box, and when I opened it the polishes were packaged in some very cute wrapping paper as you can see here:

The polishes were also packaged in a little box:

I got Rehab, Birefringence, and Contraband. I've already swatched Contraband and it's so pretty! Unfortunately, I had a really hard time photographing it properly, so I think I'll try again before I post swatches on my blog.

I also went on a polish haul outside of the Internet :) I got Glitterazzi by Catrice, which is a flakie top coat. I also got Dangerous Wish by Bourjois Paris, a black polish with gold glitters in it. My best friend also bought me some cute hearts in different colours, to use in nail art.

And then a few days ago I stumbled upon these polishes! I was shopping, and there was some sort of sale where all the stores had little tables outside their shops and extra sales and such. I saw a table full of nail polish, and it was 1€ per polish! You even got another polish for free if you bought 5 of them :) There were two brands on the table: Safari Nail Polish and Fogan Cosmetics. I hadn't heard of either of them before but the opportunity was too good to let it pass.

They might be very rubbish polishes, but the bottles look really cute and they were so cheap so I wanted to take the risk. You can even see that they're cheap by the whole "Trendy! Colour!" thing going on on the bottles, but anyway :) I haven't tried them out yet but I'll let you know when I do! I think the little Fogan glitter polish all the way on the right would look good in some mermaid nail art ;)

The ladies from the shop there were also really impressed by the length of my nails. First one of them asked my if these were my real nails, and when I said yes she yelled at the two other ladies of the shop that they needed to come and look immediately! One of those two kept touching my nails, like she couldn't believe they were real. A bit odd, but nice that they were so impressed ;)

And to finish, a big "haul" that isn't really a haul but a prize I won in a contest! I sometimes enter contests to win polish and nail art items, and recently I apparently had some prize-winning fairy godmother looking over me because I won three of them :) I already told you about two (Painted Sabotage and Shimmer Polish) but last night, my third one arrived!

I won a giveaway from Polished Pathology about a month ago, and the prize was 4 polishes from WingDust Collections. I came home from a nice day with my friends, to find a huge package at my doorstep! Of course, we all know those huge packages also harbour lots and lots of bubble wrap plastic and protective paper so the polishes don't break, but may that be as it is, the prize package was still pretty impressive!

Stephanie from WingDust Collections wrote a little thank you note on the lid of the box, complete with some butterfly stickers! (how awesome is that attention to detail - for those of you who don't know, the logo of WingDust Collections is a butterfly and the name itself refers to the shimmery powder you get on your hands when you touch a butterfly). I had so much fun digging through those protective foamy bits to find the polishes - it's like a mini treasure hunt! Inside the box, there were six polishes from the new collection, a super pretty glass file, two rolls of striping tape, and candyyy! (I love it when I get unexpected candy haha) Imagine my surprise when I discovered all of these, since Stephanie only "had" to send me 4 polishes!

The polishes themselves were packaged in bright blue wrapping paper, and in a very pretty little bag with golden butterflies on it. I love it when a polish maker has put extra effort into packaging the items, it's such a nice touch.

Here's the glass file - which is two sided! Super handy, since the previous glass file I had broke off its tip because I had been uncareful with it (I will definitely be more careful with this one!)

And finally, the gorgeous polishes themselves. They look awesome, right! Since Stephanie was still deciding on their names when she sent me them, only When Oceans Rise (the green one) has its name printed on the bottom of the bottle. The others have little stickers without a name, but I looked at the Etsy page from WingDust Collections and asked Stephanie if I had guessed all the names correctly - which I did :)

So from left to right, I got: Peaches Be Trippin'!, When Oceans Rise, After-Party @ Jimmy's, State of Dreaming, Funhouse and Get Off My Cloud! When I saw all of them, I was in awe - they are all so pretty! I was immediately attracted to When Oceans Rise, which is a thermal polish with gold flecks in it. According to Stephanie's description, it shifts from a "soft minty aqua when warm to a vibrant turquoise when cold." Exciting!

We have reached the end of the haul post! Which polishes are you most excited about? I can't wait to try out Birefringence! I'm going to save it for a time when I really have a lot of time to take proper pictures though, as I want to capture all its magnificence :) I'm also super curious about the WingDust polishes! I just have too many pretty polishes now (wait, did I just really say that?!), so it might take me a while to showcase them all here as I really want to not just swatch them, but wear them for a few days because they look so gorgeous!

Thanks for reading!

  3. Wow, such eye candy!! I love them all!! Looking forward to the swatch of Popples. And Birefringence... I've had my Birefringence on a shelf for 6 months just waiting for the right moment. It seems like the more I want a polish, the longer I wait to try it. Strange!

    1. Haha that is indeed strange! Although I must admit I have that too sometimes, I buy a polish I really wanted and then just let it sit on my shelf for a few weeks :) But not with Birefringence! I've just tried it on and it is beyond perfect!
