Shimmer Polish - Kim

Hellooow!

A few weeks ago I won a little giveaway from Shimmer Polish, and when she learned that I had a blog she asked me if I wanted to review some polishes for her. Of course I said yes, because every swatch I've seen from a Shimmer polish looks so gorgeous!

To my own surprise, I got sent eight polishes to review! (I had expected two or three) It was an amazing surprise when I opened the package ;) I love the look of every polish I got, but Kim spoke to me immediately. She's a very pretty polish with a clear base, and has blue, silver and purple glitters.

Stunning, right?! Because it was my first experience with a Shimmer Polish, I used one coat of nr. 44 by D'Orleac, which is a dark blue crème, as a base. I then used two thick coats of Kim. She was so easy to use! The glitters didn't drag to the tip of my nail, they all spread out great. And the coverage was really good too! I actually wouldn't have had to use a blue base first - the next Shimmer Polish I'll try will just go on my nail without another base colour :)

Drying time was really good too. I expected the polish to dry slowly because I had used thick layers to get many glitters out, but by the time I had finished with layer 1 on both of my hands, the thumb on my left hand (where I had started with the polish) was dry already! I ended with a layer of top coat by Only You.

This polish was really hard to capture on camera though, and I fear I have failed to portray its amazing beauty :/ My best friend, my mom and my boyfriend were all amazed by Kim and adored it a lot - and so did I. The blue glitter is stunning (it's a bit more light blue in real life than in my pictures), but my favourite colour here was the purple - gooooorgeous! Unfortunately, the purple was the hardest to capture in photographs, so I'm adding a blurry picture where all the colours are more apparent :)

So, all in all: there were NO downsides to this polish. Application was great, and Kim is just stunning. More stunning than my pictures can convey - you have to see Kim in real life to truly see her beauty. If you want to see more pictures of Kim, you can click here to go to the Shimmer Polish website with a huge array of pictures!

I also love how every Shimmer Polish has a woman's name! It feels like I'm talking about a good friend when I refer to them - and let's be honest, aren't our polishes sort of our good friends? ;)

Do you own any Shimmer Polishes? What are your favourites? I have seven more of these beauties to show you, yay!

Thanks for reading!

    1. Thank you! I've only read good things about Shimmer Polish as well so I was super curious to try them out! And everything I've read about them is true, the coverage is amazing and they were super easy to work with! I really hadn't expected a glitter polish to go on so smoothly :) If you have some extra cash to go wild with polish, Shimmer Polish would be a perfect place to start for some glittery goodness! :)

    1. Shimmer is awesome! I didn't think I would like the polishes this much but I just fell in love :) I'm wearing my second one now as I just couldn't wait to try another one!

  9. Looks so great on your long nails!! I always feel like I can't capture glitters' majesty on camera either. Lately I've been having good luck outdoors but in a shaded area. My new neighbors must be like what is she doing creeping around her property and hiding behind her garage with a camera? Lol!
