Helloooow my polish loving friends!
Today I have this colourful doodle-ish tribal design for you for Day 10 of the OMD2 Challenge!
The theme is Favourite Polish - which was a hard theme! I don't have one absolutely favourite, but I do have a favourite nude polish! So I decided to make a design with OPI's My Vampire Is Buff as a base.
I used 3 coats of OPI's My Vampire is Buff (I'm truly wondering where the name comes from! Does anyone know?) and made a tribal pattern with acrilyc paint. I used red and blue paint, and mixed them together for purple too.
I didn't have a plan beforehand: I just started painting some random patterns. I mean, I knew I wanted something tribal-ish, so triangles and lines were a must :) I also knew I wanted blue and red, to make the colours stand out against MVIB.
The lines aren't the straightest, and my triangles (and definitely the squares on my middle finger) are a bit wonky sometimes, but I don't really care to be honest. I had so much fun making this design! I just started out and painted some patterns. I mean, normally I like painting my nails of course, but this time it was just different and I enjoyed it even more than usual! I think it's because I just thought "okay, this is what we're gonna paint, and we'll see how it turns out" without any worries it might totally fail - do you have that sometimes? (or possibly all of the times)
Which pattern do you like the most? I quite like the design on my pinky and on my pointer finger, but I adore that row of triangles on my ring finger a lot as well :D I'll definitely try some tribal again soon, since I enjoyed it so much!
That was my entry for Day 10 of OMD2 - which is your favourite polish, by the way?
I hope you like my design and thanks for reading!
I love the pattern on your ring finger the most, but they all look so good! It's so hard to pick a favorite isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexandria! It indeed is really hard to pick a favourite!
DeleteOmg the perfection of your nails is unreal! I looove them! That's true, i wonder how they came up with that name
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm so glad you like them! I'm going to be wondering about that name now until I know the answer! ;)
DeleteThese look great!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacqui! :)
DeleteThese are gorgeous! The lines are perfect. You must have had a great deal of patience to do such an intricate design :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Lucy - although my lines are a bit wonky sometimes! I did this design in about an hour or an hour and a half, but I had so much fun the entire time that it didn't feel like a long time or I wasn't getting impatient! Luckily, because otherwise everything would have been ten times wonkier! :D
Deletemy favorite polish is definitely Color Club Bright Night it's such a nice vivid cobalt blue! I love the colors you picked for this tribal design! I haven't attempted a tribal mani yet my freehand skills aren't that good but you're right it is kind of like doodling so maybe it won't be too hard? my favorite is your index nail... i especially love the square zig zag kind of thing... I don't really know what to call it haha :D
ReplyDeleteOoh Bright Night does look like a gorgeous polish! I don't own anything like it (yet!) but it's a great colour to have in your collection :) You should definitely try a tribal design! You can make it as simple or as intricate as you want so if you don't feel as confident about it, you can start out with a few lines and triangles and see how it goes :) Square zig zag thing is the perfect description! I love those too :)
DeleteWat een precies werkje!! Ben je vast wel even mee bezig geweest... Love it!
ReplyDeleteDankjewel Miriam! :)
DeleteI don't have any favorite polish, my hole collection is my favorite :) The nude OPI is very pretty and the design you made on it is awesome. I like too your pinky fingers design the best but the hole nail art is mesmerizing, I can not take my eyes of it. I wish you a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHehe Andrea, that is a great attitude, not picking a favourite! Thanks a lot for your kind words - have a great weekend yourself! :)
DeleteYour mani looks great Robin ! I like your ring finger better, I love triangles and those tiny ones are cute :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! Triangles are awesome :D
DeleteWow, such fine detail work you did--very impressive!

DeleteI love this - it's so detailed and the colours work so well together! I think it's always hard to pick a favourite nail polish! I love the design on your little finger the best! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jayna! Yeah it was really hard trying to pick a favourite polish at first, so I decided to narrow it down to favourite nude polish which was a bit easier! ;)
