Shimmer Polish - Tammy (and OMD2 Day 25)

Hi everyone!

Today I have another gorgeous Shimmer Polish to show you, and another design for OMD2!

I was so pleasantly surprised by Kim, my previous Shimmer Polish swatch, that I couldn't wait to try out another one. I also wanted to do another design for OMD2 Day 25: Roses. At first, I planned on doing the normal pink roses with mint background - which are nice of course, but I've done those a few times before so I wanted to change it up.

I was inspired by the colours of Shimmer Polish Tammy: she's a glitter polish in a clear base, and has yellow/golden hexes, black hexes, two shades of purple glitters - all in varying sizes. Finally, Tammy has some very small silver bar glitter - I know, you probably are going "uugh bar glitter juck" right now, but no! Tammy's bar glitter is so small and tiny that you don't realize it's bar glitter at first. I guess you could call it "refined bar glitter" - believe me, it's pretty!

I adore Tammy a lot - when I saw her in the bottle, I thought she looked nice but the colours didn't really attract me - I totally changed my mind from the minute I put her on! Tammy is just perfect :)

For this design, I used:
Tammy - Shimmer Polish
Unnamed polish by Guylond Paris
Urban Jungle - Essie
Acrylic paints.

I painted two coats of the Guylond polish on three fingers, and then added one coat of Tammy. The glitters all spread nicely and application was easy - just like Kim! I added one coat of top coat. What I love about these glitter polishes is that they don't seem to be top coat hungry - just one normal coat and everything's super! If you want, you could even skip the top coat to be honest, but I apply it to be safe.

I then painted two coats of Urban Jungle on my thumb and ring finger, and added the roses with acrilyc paint. I was inspired by this design by Robin Moses, and after seeing her tutorial I tried to make my roses the way she did them. Hers are infinitely prettier, but it was good practice and I do like my result :)

And a little close-up shot so you can see all the glitter properly. Pretty!

To finish this blog post, a few cute pictures! I went to the zoo while I was wearing this design, so I had to have some pictures of my nails and some animals right ;) There were these incredibly colourful birds called lories, and they were flying around "freely" inside a little house where people could enter and feed the birds.

I tried posing with a bird, and then suddenly another bird joined in and they apparently were both fascinated by my nail art ;)

One even sat on my arm. And apparently Tammy looks very delicious because he started biting my nail! I quickly told him to stop - how ridiculous would it be if I lost one of my nails because a bird bit on it lol!

That were my nail adventures at the zoo! I hope you enjoyed seeing Tammy - she is super gorgeous, and I'm glad with the pictures I got from her: I feel like I've captured her beauty better than Kim's. If you want to see more pictures of the lovely Tammy, you can click here!

Thanks for reading!
