LynB Designs: Mind Palace

*Disclaimer: some items in this blog post have been previously received for review.

Hello everyone!

I'm sharing another one of my LynB Designs polishes with you today from my mega haul - you already saw the gorgeous Galaxy We Call the Milky Way here. But today's post is all about the equally stunning Mind Palace!

This polish has been on my wishlist for SO long but I didn't get it until now because I was always afraid that it would be tricky to apply - I'm so happy to tell you that it only requires a little bit of effort and that it just looks spectacular on my nails!

Mind Palace - the name refers to the tv-show Sherlock - is a purple jelly polish filled with hexagon, square, and diamond shaped glitter. There's white and black matte glitter, and shiny silver, purple and a gorgeous shade of blue glitter.

I did 3 coats of Mind Palace. This polish is filled with glitter, so you need a good top coat to smooth everything out. I used 2 coats of my Nayll Smooth It Out Top Coat on top (see my review of it here) and added the BShiny top coat from LynB Designs for extra shine.

Before using this polish, I was afraid that it might look lumpy on my nails and that I would have a hard time with application. I can happily say that none of this was the case! However, you do need to be careful with application - this isn't like a normal crème polish which applies without any effort, of course. The glitters of Mind Palace dragged a bit towards my tips, so I made sure to not do too heavy brushstrokes and did some placement of the glitters too.

So, this is the kind of polish some people might need some practice with but it went great for me. I didn't put the bottle upside down before using it and I didn't have to fish for the big diamond shape glitter, so that's a plus. And the effect is so stunning! Mind Palace has such a lovely purple base colour and the glitters are floating on my nails - jum! This polish was definitely worth the little effort I put into the glitter placement.

And of course I had to mattify this polish too! Looks equally jummy, though I prefer the shiny version a tiny bit more with that gorgeous blue shiny glitter. I used a matte top coat from Claire's.

And here's a close-up of both the shiny version (left) and the matte version (right):

What do you think of Mind Palace? And which version do you prefer, matte or shiny?

In case you're totally digging Mind Palace, you can find it here in the LynB Designs Etsy shop. Her polishes are 3-free and come in bottles of 15ml.

Thanks for reading!

  4. Oh ik heb zo'n haat liefde verhouding met glitter. Vind het zo mooi maar het opbrengen, schoonmaken, verwijderen... daar hou ik dan niet zo van. Ondanks de peel-off. Maar wat een beauty zeg.. Erg mooi!
