Cuties for Becca!

Hello everyone!

A little bunny told me today is Becca's birthday! You might all know Becca from Not Your Average Nails already - I did a mani swap with her a few months ago! If you don't, get your ass over to her blog and be baffled by all her amazing designs.

Her friend Brit contacted me on Tumblr and asked me if I wanted to do some celebratory nail art for Becca's birthday. I'm always in the mood for this type of thing! Plus, Becca is super nice so she deserves some birthday love!

I didn't want to do something really birthday-ish with balloons because I had to wear these nails for a few days to work. So I decided to show Becca my love by recreating one of her designs!

I didn't pick just any design, no. I picked the most cutest fluffiest adorablest come over here and cuddlest me design! You can see hers here :) As far as I understand it, this bunny is called Molang, is from Korea and loves to eat strawberries. But all you really need to know is that he/she's the cutest ever.

I didn't have a whole bunch of time to recreate it, so the design didn't turn out a cute as Becca's did. Her bunnies are rounder - you'll know what I mean when you look at pictures of her design vs. mine. I'm still happy with how mine looks though, it's still cute enough!

I used New Romantic by Rimmel Salon Pro as a base colour, and my matte top coat from Claire's on top. Becca's design isn't matte, but mine just looked better matte than shiny for some reason.

The rest was done with acrylic paint and I just copied Becca's design. At first I tried to make the sad looking bunny more happy looking to fit the birthday theme, but he looked kind of creepy that way and well he's just so much cuter when he looks a bit sad to be honest. Poor bunny.

And here's  picture of my nails with a picture on my laptop of Becca's nails! Pictureception or something.

Hurrah! Becca, I hope you like my recreation for your birthday! And I hope you have a great day! :D

Everyone else, I hope you're having an equally great day ;) Thanks for reading!

  10. These are so cute!! It's so hard to recreate cartoon characters and keep their original personality (if that makes any sense haha) but you did a perfect job!
