YAY for new polish!
As you all know I have just finished with all my papers and exams, and to celebrate I went on a little post exam polish haul! Or well, two little hauls to be exact.
First up, my little Claire's haul! I got Beach and Disco. Beach is a neon yellow. Disco looks absolutely that: disco! It's an amazingly holographical polish filled with bar glitter, jum!
And I also got a cuticle cream from Sally Hansen, which works so well! I've been using it for about a week now and I totally notice a difference from my old cuticle cream (from HerĂ´me). The only downside is that the Sally Hansen one smells very artificial, like orange candy, but I quite like that :)
I also got Tropink from the Maybelline Bleached Neon collection - I also wanted the coral one but it wasn't in the shop sadly. So I picked up another coral Maybelline polish called Corals Up.
I got Essie's Urban Jungle because I needed a good off-white, and a blue "Jeans Look" polish from 2B.
I also got a matte top coat from Claire's (I couldn't find a matte top coat anywhere else! Is matte out or something?) and a fast drying top coat from Only You.
And finally, I picked up a very pretty blue polish with green shimmer in it called Holiday (I have no idea how the name connects to the shade) and a sort of dusty pink polish from Only You called Love Afair - I find the colour a bit hard to describe but I found it very interesting :)
And to finish this post, I quickly swatched my Jeans Look polish for you! I was really curious of how it looked. To my own surprise, it's a textured polish! Which isn't indicated anywhere on the bottle - I'm not the only one who feels this sort of information should be stated somewhere on the bottle, right? Anyway, a textured blue polish then!
It's a nice polish, I used two easy coats here. I can see how it has a jeans look, although it doesn't resemble jeans entirely. It's also a different sort of textured polish from the OPI's liquid sands: instead of a liquid sand effect, this one looked and felt more like I put sugar in my polish - the texture was less "textured", to use as vague a description as possible. It dries sort of matte, although there are some shimmers and sparkles here and there.
I then put a shiny top coat on top, to see how it looked - I toooootally prefer the non-shiny look. With shine, I think the texture just looks odd.
That was my Jeans polish then :) How do you like it? And do you like my haul? Which polish would be your favourite?
Thanks for reading!
Great polishes! Last time I went shopping for polishes I was really doubting whether I should by that Jeans Look polish by 2B. I just wasn't sure how it would look so thank you for helping me! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I saw the Jeans Look polish and was just too curious to not buy it ;)
DeleteThat jeans look polish! Oh my... <3
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun polish indeed!
DeleteCongratulations on your after exam spree! What better way to celebrate all your hard work :D The polishes you picked up look great; Let me know how you go with the Sally Hansen hand cream, my nails are in dire need of some TLC! xx
ReplyDeleteHehe going polish shopping is indeed a super fun way to celebrate :D The Sally Hansen hand cream is amazing, I use it every morning and evening (and when I think about it, sometimes during the day as well) and it really works great for me. My hands are softer and the skin around my nails looks healthy - I'd say go get that hand cream! :)
DeleteAll of the polishes are very pretty and the denim effect one is so cool. I've heard that L'Oreal came out with a same collection (there are two denim effect polishes) and of course I hardly cand wait for them to appear in our country!
ReplyDeleteOoh I'm curious about the L'Oreal ones! I'm going to google them right now :) The denim effect really is cool!
DeleteVery interesting texture! Love seeing all your selections.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! It's always fun seeing other people's polish hauls :)
DeleteOOO i really want some of the bleached neons! Lucky… Love all the polishes you picked up!
ReplyDeleteThe bleached neons were all over the place when they first came out, but I wasn't really interested in them - it's only after seeing a design by Dahlia Nails that I thought 'Hey, these actually look really cool!' I'm glad I got some now :)
DeleteYou must be so happy your exams are over! I did exactly the same thing when mine finished last month! All of these nail polishes look great - especially Disco! I love the textured effect of the Jeans Look polish too! :)
ReplyDeleteHappiness all around! And today I'm actually officialy graduating! Super exciting :) Disco is suuuuuper sparkly and pretty :D
DeleteThat's so exciting! Congratulations! I hope it all goes well! :)
DeleteHehe it was quite boring actually! Some people gave a little speech, our name got called but we didn't have to go up to the stage and get our diploma or anything, so it wasn't at all like you see in American movies with the hat throwing and so on! Anyway, the important thing is that I graduated :)
DeleteHi Robin! Great haul:) I really like the texture and color of the Jeans Look polish but much prefer the non-shiny look! At first glance, it doesn't look much like jeans but I think the more I keep looking at it, it does sort of resemble it, haha. All the colors you bought are pretty cool. I think my favorites are the Jeans Look and Claire's Disco (Nails, Inc. also has one from their Fibre Optic collection that I got on sale from Sephora!), but I could see Only You Holiday being really pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! I prefer the non-shiny version wayyy more too! Yeah I was a bit like 'huh this isn't so jeans-y' at first but I had the same as you, the more I look at the polish the more I can see the resemblance :)
DeleteYay! Congrats! I love a good haul. I want to eventually pick up Urban Jungle.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emiline! I haven't had a chance to use Urban Jungle yet, I must come up with a good design to test it out! :)
DeleteThat Jeans Look nail polish looks amazing! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
