Shimmer Polish Nichole

Hi everyone!

Today there's a little break from all the fun guest posts - here's a post of myself again! :D

I have a very patriotic polish for you today: Shimmer Polish Nichole! (or well, patriotic if you live in America at least - and I guess France and The Netherlands would work too!)

What polish?
Shimmer Polish Nichole! She has a clear base and is packed with mainly (light and dark) blue, red and silver hexagon shaped glitters in all kinds of sizes.
Shimmer Polishes cost $12 and come in bottles of 15ml.

Formula?
Easy! Nichole has a thick base (the good kind of thick) which covers well and is easy to use. She's packed with glitter so you get a lot of glitters with just one coat.

Coats?
On my accent nail you see three thick coats of Nichole on her own. On my index finger and pinky there's one coat of Nichole on top of the gradient.

Where can you find it?

The Etsy shop for Shimmer Polish is here! But if you want, you can also order Shimmers by just emailing them - see the Shimmer blog here for details.

Now, my design: I wanted to match the colours in Nichole so I picked Sinful Colors Snow Me White, and Essie Lapiz of Luxury and nr. 44 by D'Orleac for the gradient. I used a peel off base underneath everything (NYC Strip Me Off) and topped everything with Essence Gel Like Top Coat.

Here's a close-up:

What do you think of Nichole? I really like her on top of that gradient, and I just love her colours together! I wish my country (Belgium) would have a flag with pretty colours but I really dislike the yellow/black combo haha ;)

You can check out more designs with Nichole here on the Shimmer Polish blog!

Thanks for reading!

  5. I feel like I haven't read your blog in forever! The "Summer of Guest Posts" is such a fun idea, hope your internship is going great :) I love the glitter! I think I really need to look into a peel off base, I always avoid glitter because it's so difficult to remove.

    1. Thanks Lucy!! We are both very busy ladies lately haha! My internship is going super amazing, I love it lots and lots!! :D

Oh yes a peel off base is so handy! I only use it for swatching because otherwise your glitter can start to peel off around the edges after a day's wear and I hate that, but it's amazing when you're reviewing or swatching glitter :)

  6. I really like your design, looks really 4th of July! Do you put a glitter off basecoat underneath the nails you only put the glitter on?

    1. Thanks Franzi!! Yes, I used a NYC glitter peel off basecoat - I don't like using it when I plan on wearing a polish for a few days, but for swatching and reviews it's perfect!
