Christmas Sweater Sparkles

Hiii!!

As you will probably know already, it's almost Christmas! :D (Emily will be so excited lol!)

I decided it was finally time to create a Christmas design. I'm not really a person to make seasonal appropriate nail art - I just do designs when I think of them. So I don't feel the need to create a whole bunch of Christmassy designs just because it's that time of the year.

But: I was inspired by a super cute design which had a few deer and did some gold stripes around it, like in a Christmas sweater pattern - unfortunately I saw it in a picture on the Born Pretty Store website and I don't know who created the design originally. You can see the picture here.

Anyway, I decided to take that element of the design, since I had just bought some mega cute deer from She Sells Sea Shells!

For this design, I used OPI's Big Apple Red, Catrice Goldbusters, Park Avenue Golden Tears and Claire's Honeycomb.

Obviously I used the deer, and some golden hearts I got from my best friend - she gave me an entire jar of hearts in different colours because she thought it would be great for some nail art! Sweet huh :) And I also used white acrilyc paint.

I did three coats of Big Apple Red and topped it with my Fast Drying Top Coat from Only You. Then I placed the deer on it. And then I noticed something very odd: the red polish had become darker!!

You might have noticed already a big difference in colour between the red on my nails and the red in the OPI bottle. I have no idea how it happened, and it hasn't happened with other polishes I own. Except for another OPI, Amazing California Love, which is a bright pink but also gets some darker stripes. Did anyone experience this with OPI before, of is it possibly a combination of my top coat + red OPI polish?

Anyhow, it still looks good darker ;) I painted three coats of gold on my thumb and ring finger, and then sponged on the gold glitters!

I finished the design by adding three big hearts to my middle finger and sealing them in with generous amounts of top coat since they're quite big. I think they look lovely!

What do you think of this Christmassy design? It will probably be my only one, except for some red polished I'll be wearing in the coming week :) (I'm planning to wear Essie's Toggle To The Top for Christmas Day)

Thanks for reading!
