Shimmer Polish - Lorene

Hiii!!

Another day, another Shimmer Polish review! This time I have the raspberry pink Lorene for you.

Lorene has a clear base and her primary colour is raspberry red/pink. She also has squares and hexes in various colours: turquoise, orange, yellow, green, bright blue and I could go on for a while. You can see the amazing colour mix for yourself in the picture above!

By now, you all know the Shimmer drill: great formula, amazing coverage, and a super intricate colour palette. I used three thick coats of Lorene on her own and added my Fast Drying Top Coat from Only You. No issues with application at all, as usual with Shimmer Polishes!

I then tried out Lorene with a matte top coat (from Claire's). Still as pretty!

I made a little collage again as well. You can see all the glitter on my nail really clearly and you can see how well Lorene covers. The macro of my nail is with matte top coat btw.

What do you think of Lorene? You can of course also use her as a glitter topper - you can see all sorts of designs with Lorene here on the Shimmer Polish website!

Shimmer Polishes cost $12 and come in bottles of 0.5 Fl. Oz., which is approximately 14.8 ml. You can visit the Shimmer Polish Etsy shop here!

Thanks for reading! After this, I have just one more Shimmer to show you! So stay tuned ;)

    1. Hehe Emily, I immediately had to laugh when I read your response, you Christmas lover! :p I used the foil method to remove it, I do that with all my glitter polishes. I just let it soak for about ten minutes and then I had no issue removing it :) I know that if I try to remove it like a creme I would have to scrub and scrub my nails so the foil method is by far way easier :)

    2. Haha, I do love Christmas :p! I've never actually tried the foil method, I usually just sit there for hours trying to scrub it off :p. I've just bought a peel off base coat to try, hopefully that will work well - I figured I'd be using glitter a lot over Christmas and can't be bothered with the hassle of removing it! lol x

    3. Oh, I'm curious to see how the peel off base coat works out for you! I'm not sure if I want to buy one, because I'm afraid that if my nail polish starts peeling a tiny bit then the entire thing would come off and I would go crazy over that. Let me know how it goes! :)

    4. Just an update on the peel off base coat for you - it works great! However, it's only practical for a one night manicure. I washed my hair and I noticed I had a bare nail and I was like WHAT! If you're careful though then they won't peel off. So if there's just one night where you want really glittery nails then it would be prefect :) x

    5. Oh thanks Emily! Too bad about that, that was what I was afraid off with a peel off base coat :( I like wearing my polishes for at least two days, so I guess the tin foil method to remove glitter polishes will still be the one for me! :)

    6. Yeah, it seems a shame to do a manicure and then take it off the next day! I will try the tin foil method next time I do glitter nails and see how that works out :)
